PurposeGames.com
I found PurposeGames.com, a website where I can create specific maps and quizzes based exactly on the points focused on in class. Too often maps are confusing and note things not covered by the instructor in class. This would be a way to create a quiz and map based on the points covered by the instructor.

Via: www.iknowthat.com I was able to create a push pin map in which I could specify the significance of each location selected by myself and have students do research on why that location was pinpointed and how they all connect.

Via this website you can log on and play another person in a geography quiz. A head to head or class session could be set up and randomized using World, Europe, or US Geography. A class tournament could be held.

Survey Says...
Here are my survey results, I sent out the survey to a random selection of five students. Four answered. I don't know which four of the five answered so the survey results are anonymous in that respect. I used this survey to get a basic grasp of how people feel technology integrates into their day to day life. If you notice, questions two and six correlate as thought. It's pretty cool. I thought I'd get people to trip up. It seems that more and more the lines between "real" life and the world that exists online are become blurred.

Appomattox Court House Role Play Rubric.
I always thought about what went down in the Appomattox Court house when Gen. Lee surrendered to Gen. Grant and ended the U.S. Civil War...
History is full of smooth talkers who have gotten out of some pretty sticky situations whether they deserved to or not. I thought it would be fun to have students research key events in the US Civil War and do a historical role play argument in the Appomattox Court House. One student representing the South, one student representing the North. Based on the strength of the argument, the class decides whom surrenders to whom.

Jing Video
Short (YEAH RIGHT) reflection: Jing Pro may have a re-size feature... the free version does not. Weak. I spent quite some time re-shooting the video in a smaller size, messing with the embed code to get the video smaller, all unfortunately to no avail. Get with the program Jing! Why would I buy this if I can't embed it into my blog without it taking over like the blob!!!!

Learning Style Reflections:
My Multiple Intelligences Survey Results:
My results show things I already know about myself. I'm terrible with numbers. I can barely count. I do think however my Nature-Smart is abnormally low because I answered that I don't like learning outside. Being outdoors is super distracting. I prefer to learn about it, then go an experience it. Its hard to take in all of a new experience when I'm surrounded by it, at least for me. I believe I'm also more people smart than this graph reads. I generally don't buy these graphs as accurate, and hate when people read into them. My greatest weakness is by far my inability to incorporate visuals, yet interestingly enough... I learn visually. I like to use words to express ideas and feel this is how I best convey my point.

I notice in this survey that I (rightfully so) side more on the reflective side. It will be a challenge for me to involve some type of movement in the classroom to engage students. I also side on the Intuitive section of the second line. This is why I like college lectures so much. I would need to be slightly more engaging in my future classroom. Teaching from what I can tell isn't about how you learn, but how the students learn. I find myself to be true on this graph. On this graph I find myself never landing in the middle. I'm always skewed to one side. This is both advantageous and disadvantageous. My proficiencies will shine however my deficiencies will also be more evident. I will have to work hard to walk a middle course to make sure no one is left out.
Overall I think these are pretty good representations of me in every day life. As mentioned, I'm not the kind of person that lends a lot of belief to these graphs. People are far to diverse and complicated to be summed up in forty questions. Similarly I don't believe administrating one of these to students could be definitive, young people are eternally changing and forging who they are. The best is to offer a wide variety to satisfy all tastes. That is, of course, an opinion. I'm not sure of it's correctness, but I think I'm on the right path.

Late!
I think this assignment is late. That really bums me out. I think all assignments are should be due no later than class time on the days the class meets. Get real. That's why I want to be a teacher. So I can establish rules that I felt beaten up over.
Just kidding... not really though.
As you may or may not have seen in the introduce yourself section - I've always wanted to be a teacher. I don't know why, but I generally don't question my gut feelings. I've been happy with my decision to want to be come a teacher since I was about ten, so I think I'm on the right path.
I love High School. I loved going, I hated graduation and leaving. It was lame. I had such a positive experience and so much of that was excellent teachers. I want to give that experience. I want to be a part of someone's life who I don't know. Someone who is forced to sit in front of me. I think that's a great challenge. To educate, and win over an unsympathetic audience. Not for personal satisfaction, but from knowing that a good teacher can motivate you to do so much.
I attended Cornerstone for two years, dropped out for two years, and now I'm back. Even though my path is not without deviations, I'm glad to be here. For a over a year my wife and I started teaching the High School Sunday School class in our church. This amazing connection with them is what drove me back to school. I love interacting and learning alongside them.
This is seriously golden stuff. If I get late points for this, done at 10:00am when my class isn't until 6:00pm, I will burn with a dark anger and furious rage. That's a bit strong, but all good things are strong. Coffee, Professional Wrestlers, Diamonds, Gorillas, etc.
